Wooden Box Packaging

For centuries, the traditional way to package and transport products has been to use wooden box packaging, with wood packing material filled in around the items to further protect delicate and fragile items from getting damaged during bumpy rides over roads and high seas. Wood packing materials and products come in many forms.

Wood pallets are a common wood packing material that are used extensively by trucking companies to move freight around the world. Many items including machinery are still transported in wooden box packaging because wooden crates can be custom made for nearly any purpose, from small items like wine bottles to large pieces of furniture and equipment. Until the advent of plastics used for packaging material,

wood packing material like wood shavings were widely used filler to further protect items inside of wood box packaging and crates. We introduced Sylvacurl in 1994 as a new take on an old concept of wood packing material. Sylvacurl is an all natural wood packing material made from wood shaving packaging curls, that we manufacture to create a proven protective packaging material that looks good,

performs well, and is completely biodegradable with no special circumstances allowing for ease of use, reuse, recycling, and disposal. We have a number of customers that make value added forestry products, such as maple syrup, who choose Sylvacurl because a wood packing material compliments their product.

Other customers use wooden box packaging like wooden crates or boxes filled with Sylvacurl to present their maple or birch syrups, because it further elevates their products. One of the wonderful things about using wooden box packaging or wood packing material is that it creates a beautiful display for products, and it can be easily reused without having to end up in a landfill.
